Mosquito (film)

Mosquito is a 1995 science fiction film directed by Gary Jones. The films plot pays homage to the classic 1950s horror genre. The film stars Gunnar Hansen who played the character Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Ron Asheton, lead guitarist for the protopunk rock band The Stooges also stars. After a long run on the USA Network, Mosquito was picked up by the channel SyFy. The films classic bmovie dialogue, special effects that range from great to really bad, and eye popping gore have earned it a cult following.

Matt Hundley was not the first choice to do special effects for this film. Another special effects artist started doing the effects for the film but mid way through, he said Ill be right back, Im going to get a pack of smokes, and never came back.On the opening weekend, Mosquito had grossed 211,000 and was show onto 870 screens. Finally, the film grossed 986,134 which is overtimes its budget. ........
